Abstract   The aim of this paper is to investigate current-driven resonant converter which comply the following conditions: power factor correction, output voltage regulation, electrical insulation, high efficiency. The range of power is fixed to 3 kW. In this study we are interested in current-source resonant converter topologies with two energy storage elements which allow the leakage inductance of HF transformer to be used in order to achieve smaller size and lighter weight. Depending on the resonant circuit, power factor correction capability will be discussed. Converter topologies will be classified based on the switching category (zero-current or zero-voltage switching) and output filter type. Computer simulations will be given.
