Abstract |
This article contains the design and the results of an experimental setup where a superconducting magnetic energy storage device (SMES) is used in combination with an active filter to enhance power quality locally by reducing flicker. The SMES is a device for a direct electrical energy storage with the unique option to perform fast and frequent charging and discharging cycles without degradation. Especially the active filter current control which enables the system to care for harmonic current delivery is presented in detail also. |
