 Abstract   The performance of Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) and Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) estimators for use in vector controlled induction motor drives is evaluated. Each technique is considered in the context of closed loop rotor flux oriented control of the induction machine. The affects of estimator parameter variation on real-time experimental implementation are considered.
