 Abstract   In the newest Adtranz Italian project a new layout of the loco structure, based on Double Star configuration of the AC side, allows the connection of a two point level inverter directly to the DC line. One of the biggest problems is the limits of the line current harmonics which are allowed to be injected into the line. In this article the authors will present the new control strategies they have implemented on the E412 and Y530 Italian locomotives.
