| Abstract | The first power converter for traction application, employing new 3.3 kV IGBT modules is presented. Two different cooling systems (forced air ventilation and liquid circulation) have been developed, resulting in different power ratings. Details of electrical and thermal design arc reported, and compliance to 30 years lifetime reliability goal has been calculated. Performances of the converter arc shown, by means of experimental test results. | |||||
