Abstract |
This paper describes a numerical method for modelling brushless d-e machines which are commonly utilized for large turbo-generator exciting systems. This study is especially focused on faulted diode operating simulation of the exciter and the evaluation of stresses occured to the safe components. It makes possible the prediction of exciter operation
maintaining (or not) with failed diodes. Results show that in general, operation with shortcicuited diodes is unbearable for the machine. However, it can be maintained if few diodes are opened. |
