Abstract |
Given the growing importance of simulation as a tool in industry to shorten the concept-to-product interval, this paper outlines features of a new simulator called SIMPLORER® for analyzing power electronic circuits. The paper highlights the useful features of the package, in general, not found in many ofthe popular simulation tools. The software is evaluated by simulating two novel circuit topologies - a three-phase, three-switch
CUK AC-DC converter and the universal input unity power factor SEPIC based converter - in terms of its simplicity in use, accuracy, execution speed and numerical robustness. The paper
also shows the comparison to results from a hardware prototype for the SEPIC based converter. |
