Direct mean torque control with improved flux control

Abstract |
This paper presents an improved direct torque and flux control algorithm for induction machines based on the Direct Mean Torque Control (DMTC). The new algorithm combines the high dynamic per-formance of a direct torque control method with a precise flux control. To achieve this the original DMTC algorithm is augmented by a third voltage vector if necessary and an improved flux controller is proposed. Experimental results show, that with this improved DMTC in conjunction with a 6th-order observer of the mechanical system, high frequency mechanical oscillations (400Hz ; 850Hz) can be successfully damped. |
