| Abstract |
The efficiency of a motor drive combined with an inverter increases by exploiting the maximum voltage level that can be provided by the inverter. This paper presents a novel control strategy for permanent magnet synchronous machines in the field weakening range. The inverter’s voltage margin is utilised completely using only the variation of the torque angle and avoiding any zero voltage vectors in steady state operation. |
