Abstract |
The paper presents the possible integration of a driver power supply within a MOSFET
power switch. The selected topology takes advantage of the energy available across the switch during
the OFF-state. In this case, there is no need of external and eventually insulated power supply for the
driver. The paper presents the characteristics of the integrated solution. The full device being not
completed at the time of this paper, qualitative integration process is presented only. Electrical and
technological compatibilities are discussed. Especially, it is presented that such structure is fully
realistic because it does not require large storage capabilities and it does not generate additional losses.
Besides, the technological compatibility is addressed to highlight how the proposed integrated solution
is compatible with power switches such as MOSFETs. Finally, an experimental discrete scheme is
tested to validate the operating principle of the structure. |
