Abstract |
The growing complexity of electronics systems in space applications lead to the use of sophisticated Hi-Tech
devices, some of which never tested in the space environment. Higher complexity means, on the other hand,
loose of reliability. Reliability is a driving factor for space programmes and then protection strategies must
be applied in order to meet the mission requirements. In the frame of the Laben Mass Memory Project a
hybrid circuit, composed of 11 latching current limiters, has been developed to distribute the +3.3V supply
voltage to SDRAM memory chips. The hybrid, thought to provide latch up protection, opens the way to the
extensive use of Hi-Tech, low cost devices also for space applications. |
