Abstract |
This paper describes a novel topology for a class E oscillator applied to induction heating in cooking applications. for the main benefits of the proposed topology are the low cost, low size and medium-high power applications where high efficiency is mandatory. It only uses one active device, and no logic control is required. Therefore power supply requirements as well as isolation between power and control are avoided. This proposal is intended for a fixed output power application, such as rice cookers or coffee machines. The proposed topology has been designed and tested for a domestic induction heating load. Experimental results as well as key waveforms for a 900W featuring 92\% efficiency are included. |
