| Abstract |
Fuel cells are set to play an increasingly important role in road transportation over the next
decade. Over the past few years there has been an increase in World-wide developments
associated with this emerging technology. Hence, an EC funded Network has been established to
review fuel cell research and developments for road transportation applications and disseminate
information to the Network members and the wider EC research and development community. A
state-of-the-art review of fuel cells and their application in electric vehicles has been undertaken
and a dedicated online website database developed to continuously monitor programmes, projects
and the key actors World-wide to increase and improve information exchange and dissemination.
The paper will summarise the state-of-the art review, some of the application issues relating to
fuel cell systems in electric vehicles, the website structure and database implementation and
review its utility as a tool for information dissemination and its applicability as an educational
tool. |
