Abstract |
The research work presented in this paper focuses on analyzing the steady-state and transient operation of a wind farm interconnected to the medium voltage network through a Voltage Source Converter with Neutral Point Clamped structure, VSC-NPC. As first part of the analysis, a number of wind speed variations are carried out to observe the steady-state performance of the system. For transient conditions, two particular study cases are performed in the test network: a) the occurrence of voltage sag, b) the occurrence of voltage swell. The simulation results illustrate the favorable impact of the multilevel controller on the distribution network performance. |
